See the blurriness of Catie's head?  That was the peace about to be destroyed.  She decided she wanted to read the book Finn had, and it all went downhill from there.  But we had about 15 minutes of peaceful couch reading time before...

Reminds me of the old Bill Cosby bit about chocolate cake for breakfast (http://foldedspace.org/files/Bill%20Cosby%20-%20Chocolate%20Cake%20For%20Breakfast.mp3). It is kind of long...but the general gist of it is the song the kids sing "Dad is great,...

Yes, it's in the genes for sure.  We have a family urban legend that my Dad fed us Ho-Ho's for breakfast one time my Mom was in the hospital.  I don't know if it's really true, but sounds good to me!

I can completely believe that Daddy said that. By the way, my mother was the one in OUR household who believed in cake and pie for breakfast.

My entire childhood, after a birthday, we ate birthday cake for breakfast every day until the cake was gone. And we can't blame that on my dad--it was Mom's idea!

How about pinatas? I think I would have always stuck around for those parties if the invite said, "warning, we're going to blindfold and spin uncoordinated kids flailing baseball bats amongst your own"
